Welcome to
"Soleil Haus" ("Soleil" is
French for "Sun", "Haus" is German for "House").
Soleil Haus
is situated in the Fraser Valley, one of Colorado's most scenic
mountain resort areas brimming with recreational activities and
attractions. Soleil Haus is located minutes from the towns of Winter
Park, Fraser, Tabernash, and Granby (gateway to the Rocky Mountain
National Park).
Our vacation home sits on a environmentally protected, mountain-fed
stream that attracts a variety of wildlife (especially birds) from
spring through summer. It is centrally located, making the boundless
number of outside recreational opportunities a "stone's throw
away".
From Soleil Haus, guests can enjoy unobstructed and ever-changing
180-degree views of the Rocky Mountain Continental Divide, and delight
in glimpses of animals and wildlife native to the area. Horses,
cattle, llamas, fox, moose, antelope, elk and coyotes have occasionally
been spotted on the nearby hillside. Beaver, trout, and a huge variety
of birds are seen around Pole Creek much of the summer.
Soleil Haus is at the east end of several similarly designed homes
that run along the townhome community's single street. Our prime
location, however, guarantees privacy and absolute quiet. It is
so peaceful once inside or out on the back decks, one hardly knows
another soul is around!
The community has its own 9-acre lake that is just a two minute
walk. A walking or snowshoeing path surrounds the lake which can
be used for non-motor boating.

SUMMER
For summer vacation fun, find the world-class, 27-hole Pole Creek
Golf Course and the new golf courses at Sol Vista, Grand Lake and
Grand Elk. All just 5-20 minutes away! Five minutes down the road
is the YMCA Snow Mountain Ranch that provides unlimited access to
many of its recreational features and facilities (i.e. swimming
pool, climbing wall, trails) for a very small daily fee. They
also have a youth camp program.
Just as close
are the jazz, blues and rock summer music concerts and local artist
craft festivals, an alpine slide, horseback riding, miniature golf,
movie theaters and great restaurants. The boating marinas at Grand
Lake, the community theater and wonderful restaurants in the town
of Grand Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park, and Hot Sulphur Springs
Spa are within 30-40 minutes. Horseback riding, biking, hiking,
river rafting, fishing, hunting and hot air ballooning are also
available nearby.
Enjoy bike
riding? The Fraser Valley has one of the most extensive biking trail
systems in the country. Pick up the new Granby to Winter Park bike
trail right within our community. Take your bike up the Winter Park
chairlift to access 50 miles of trails when you get off and have
lunch at the restaurant on the mountain top.

FALL
In the fall, you can bask in less hurried feel of lighter crowds,
perfect weather and changing foliage colors, and still partake in
hiking, biking, golfing, fishing, hunting, and other recreational
activities. A trip to Rocky Mountain National Park to watch the
male elk gather to fight for the females and to listen to their
bugling sounds is an incredible visual and auditory experience.
Plus try out the hot air balloon rides which also occasionally land
in the field right behind our home!

WINTER
For winter ski vacations, there are three major downhill ski areas
(Mary Jane, Winter Park, Sol Vista) and three large cross-country
ski and skate trail systems (Devil's Thumb, Snow Mountain Ranch,
Grand Lake Touring) within 30 minutes.
For more skiing
adventures, Keystone, Steamboat, and Copper Mountain are an hour
and a half away. Sleigh rides, ice skating, tubing, dog sledding,
snowshoeing and snowmobiling are popular winter sports all accessible
in the Winter Park area.

TESTIMONY:
"We
really enjoyed our stay in your home. It was first class and everyone
(ages 63 to 1/2) felt comfortable and it made for a nice home
base. We managed 3 family reunions within a week.
This
location is also perfect access to some great trails and some
of us hiked "last inlet", "roaring fork trail",
"high lonesome", "carabou pass" and "devils
thumb pass". My body ached, but it was good! Thanks for very
nice accomodations."
